Zec 4:11 Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof? Zec 4:12 And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves? Zec 4:13 And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord. Zec 4:14 Then said he, These are the Two Anointed Ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth. |

Welcome to 70weeks.net. This website is dedicated to studying the bible, assuming that everything it states is true and is applicable to all believers today. The goal of this website is not to suggest that everything that is said here is true or that it is all figured out: in fact this is not so. This website shares the studies of the Holy Bible and is subject to change through understanding. This could mean that the understandings here do not conform with yours.
1Th 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
This website provides study materials that have been collected in the last couple of years. A lot is a combination of teachings by existing preachers, Christian channels and my own interpretations which I believe I have been shown by the Comforter, the Holy Spirit. The name 70weeks was deliberately chosen based on the (in my opinion) widespread misinterpretations of Daniel 9:24-27. This is particularly the case with verses 26 and 27: the ‘after 62 weeks’ of verse 26 is almost never properly explained and the ‘in the middle of the week’ of verse 27 is widely interpreted as being the middle of the 7 years tribulation … to come in the future. In my opinion and after a lot of study (again, my personal studies of the Bible as well my studies of a wide range of preachers) the 70 weeks prophesy should be interpreted as follows:
- The 70 weeks are a distinct block of time (490 years), i.e. there are no gaps of undefined times. This would violate the fact that it is 70 weeks.
- This time determines the time God reserves for the people of Israel to prepare for the coming of the Messiah, to prepare for the Kingdom of God (Mark 1:15)
- Given that the death of Yeshua occurred between 26-31AD and counting back 483 years (69 weeks of years) brings you to 458 to 453BC. We know that Artaxerxes rose to power in 465BC.
We also know that “the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince” is also known as “the Decree of Artaxerxes”.
We know that this decree was issued in the 7th year of his reign, Ezra 7:7.
We now know for sure that the decree was issued in 458BC. - Although we know to translate Daniel’s days and weeks to days and weeks of years, verse 26 is totally out of sync with that principle. How can the Messiah be anointed after 69 weeks but be “cut off” after 62 weeks ? Also, the verse starts with “And” and this should perhaps alert us to read the interpretation of these weeks differently, namely as literal weeks.
“And after the 69 weeks of years, then after 62 real weeks”, in the following week, being the 63rd week, the Messiah will be “cut off” in the middle of that week, i.e. on a Wednesday. See the Passover Week slide for in-depth details.
- The crucifixion is the promise God made to mankind in the Garden of Eden: He will come down to earth to pay the ultimate price for sin: His life, His sacrifice, His blood. This is the covenant that is confirmed, the everlasting Gospel. Not some covenant with the antichrist or so. Daniel frames the events that are relevant to the coming of the Messiah not someone else.
- Yeshua’s death eliminates the need for sacrificial and drink offerings, in fact it becomes an abomination if one continues with that: the sacrifice of Yeshua brings an end to the sacrifice of animals for the payment of our sins. He is the ultimate and final offering. He takes on the penalty of sin for all of us. The law does not change: only the implements of sacrifice and the punishment are replaced by Yeshua. Matthew 5:17: “Think not that I am come to destroy the law”, remember what Paul said in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Yeshua our Lord.”
- When Stephen is stoned (Acts 7:54-60) in 33/34AD, 490 years after Artaxerxes’s decree, the probation time for the people of Israel expires. The apostles are now focussing their actions and activities almost exclusively on spreading the gospel to the Gentiles. Peter gets a vision (Acts 10:9-48) in which God tells him to do so from then on. God’s Church continues to grow with the activities of the Apostles.

Each slide has an associated PDF, which is free for download. Yeshua’s ultimate Gift of salvation is free too. It simply requires repentance and a commitment on your part to Him.
